Lane7 – The Bullring
Birmingham's biggest games bar: bowling, karaoke, Playground, darts, beer pong and a retro arcade across three floors of the Bullring.
About
Three floors of bowling, karaoke, arcade games and Playground, the UK's first immersive gaming experience with body-controlled augmented reality.
Lane7 at The Bullring is the brand’s flagship venue and its largest to date, spread across three floors inside the Bullring shopping centre. The sheer variety is the selling point: boutique ten-pin bowling lanes (up to seven people per lane), private karaoke cabins, augmented darts, shuffleboard, floor curling, beer pong, pool, ping pong, shooting pods and a full retro arcade hall. Drinks are served table-side, so there is no need to leave your lane mid-game.
The headline draw is Playground, the UK’s first immersive gaming experience created in partnership with Moment Factory. Six body-controlled augmented games are projected across a large interactive space, taking inspiration from retro gaming but requiring players to physically move and compete. It sits apart from the main gaming floor and benefits from its own booking slot.
The Game Changer packages let you mix and match activities: bowling is always the anchor, then you add one, two or three secondary games at a fixed per-person rate. The Bowl, Drink, Game bundle folds in a drink for groups of four or more from £18pp. After 7pm the venue becomes over-18s only and the atmosphere shifts accordingly, with a DJ, cocktails and late trading until 1am on weekdays and 2am on weekends.

Read all 5Experience was amazing! Place was really lively! Loved the activities that we were able to do ( bowling, playground and darts) Servicd was great especially Shauna and Alexandra, who were excellent and went above and beyond with looking after us! 🥹😊 Will definitely be coming back
I went with my friends and it was a cool experience overall. That said, with five of us, the bowling area space felt a bit cramped and there wasn’t much seating available. Also after our game ended, we wanted to take some picture, but we were asked to leave immediately.
Tips
0Is Lane7 The Bullring suitable for children?+
Children are welcome during the day, but the venue becomes strictly over-18s after 7pm and physical ID is required for entry. It's best suited to adults and older teens for daytime visits; families with young children should plan to arrive and finish up well before the evening cutover.
What's the typical age range of visitors here?+
The venue is marketed as 'the ultimate playground for grown-ups,' so the crowd skews towards adults in their 20s and 30s. After 7pm it is exclusively 18+ with ID enforced, making evenings a firmly adult-only environment.
How busy does it get, and when's the best time to go?+
Lane7 The Bullring is one of Birmingham city centre's most popular entertainment venues and can get very busy, particularly on weekends when queues to register for activities have been noted by visitors. Weekday visits or arriving earlier in the day will give you a much more relaxed experience.

my first visit & first time bowling on my works Xmas day of fun , three floors of so many types of games from bowling to arcade games . definitely recommend it & very well run ( plus it has a bar 🍺)
Not bad. Pleasantly surprised with how big this place was. Only got 10mins per person on the playground though so a bit of a rip off. Cost £25.50 total. Not really that worth it but apparently cheaper if you go in larger groups. We were told we initially had 55mins on the playground for 2 of us but that was taken away 2mins into the game. Kind of spoiled the whole experience but never mind. I did still however enjoy the lively atmosphere. It's got that happy busy retro vibe a lot of potential but prices are just high. I can imagine it will get busier and busier as time goes by.
Great venue but weekend queues need work Visited Lane 7 Birmingham on a Saturday and, while the place is fun and staff are great, the queue to register for each game was frustrating and time-consuming — especially for those with bookings. I understand they mention “subject to availability” on their website, but a better system is definitely needed to manage weekend crowds. Also worth noting: under-18s aren’t allowed after 7pm, which feels a bit early for a weekend during school holidays. That said, customer service was excellent — staff listened to our concerns and kindly let us stay until 9pm, which we really appreciated. Overall, a good experience, but some weekend logistics could be improved.

Do I need to book in advance, or can I just turn up?+
Walk-ins are possible, but Lane7 itself recommends booking ahead to avoid a wait, especially for bowling lanes and popular activities, and even more so for large groups, who are advised to book well in advance. Packages such as Bowl, Drink, Game are available for groups of four or more and start from £18 per person.
Is there a dress code?+
Lane7 The Bullring does not publish a formal dress code, but as an activity bar with a strong evening nightlife atmosphere it's sensible to dress smart-casual, particularly for evening visits. Comfortable footwear is advisable since bowling shoes are provided for the lanes.
How do I get there, and is there parking nearby?+
The venue is located on levels 6 and 7 inside the Bullring shopping centre at 1 Queens Drive, Birmingham B5 4PJ, making it easy to reach by public transport, Birmingham New Street station is a short walk away. The Bullring has multi-storey car parks on site for those driving, and Blue Badge parking is also available at the centre.
What's included in the price and roughly how much should I budget?+
Prices range from around £18 to £45 per person depending on activity and package. Bowling starts from around £10.50 per person, and the Bowl, Drink, Game package starts from £18 per person for groups of four or more; the retro arcade hall also offers a free old-school gaming area for those wanting a lighter taste of the venue. Drinks are available throughout but some visitors note that bar prices are on the higher side.
