  • Discover hidden cascading waterfalls in an untouched corner of the Peak District. The walk follows Arnfield Brook upstream through moorland with increasingly dramatic pools and falls. Steep sections require good footwork, especially in wet conditions. A genuinely quiet walk away from the honeypot sites.

Popular waterfall trail with cascading falls and natural pools along Arnfield Brook
  1. Park at Crossgate Lane/Arnfield Fly Fishery (SK13 1HP)
  2. Start walking uphill on the road towards Crossgate Farm
  3. Pass Gamekeeper cottage and head through the gate on your right
  4. Continue uphill crossing two more gates and following the fell side
  5. Look for a small cairn on your left and turn to follow the path towards Arnfield Brook
  6. Walk alongside the brook for about 1.5 miles to reach the waterfalls
  7. Return via the hillside path and farm track, or retrace your steps back down the valley

Seven Falls

Seven Falls is a spectacular 5.5-km circular walk through the northwestern edge of the Peak District near Tintwistle, following Arnfield Brook upstream to discover a series of cascading waterfalls and tranquil pools. The route features steep sections with beautiful moorland views and is popular with walkers and hikers seeking solitude in a dramatic natural setting. Parking is available near Arnfield Fly Fishery for £2 all day, and the walk can be extended to explore plane crash sites on the surrounding moors.
