Wyming Brook Nature Reserve
Wyming Brook Nature Reserve is a precious pocket of wild woodland on the western edge of Sheffield, managed by Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust. The reserve features a dramatic wooded ravine cut by the tumbling Wyming Brook, with mossy boulders, small waterfalls and stepping stones. Visitors can choose between easy strolls on the wide, surfaced Wyming Brook Drive offering views across the Rivelin reservoirs and Sheffield city beyond, or higher footpaths along rocky crags and a more adventurous boulder-strewn route beside the brook itself. The habitat is part of the Eastern Moors Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and supports diverse wildlife including wood warbler, dipper, and various moths. The reserve has received the Green Flag Award for eight consecutive years.

What a beautiful spot to go to🔥 1hour away from me well worth it. Had a blast hiking and walking around seeing the waterfalls. Make sure to take the right shoes as it can get slippery and very muddy. Nature waterfalls🏝️ Stepping stones🚶♂️ Hiking🥾 Carpark was quite busy had to wait 5/7mins 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely woodland walks, even on a grey day you can easily spend a couple hours here. Make sure to wear decent walking boots if you opt to follow a smaller footpath rather than the main trail, there are lots of rocks, tree roots and some sloped sections of path. Dog friendly, though keep an eye out for ground nesting birds. No bins, so take home what you bring. Main car park is free but only big enough for 15-20 cars so either come early to avoid disappointment, or hope you get lucky.

Be careful when turning to the parking lot. The place there is beautiful. But parking is a limited space. We were on a working day. Around 11:30 in the afternoon there were three free spaces. So visually looking. There is no toilet. There is no café. There you can only relax in the fresh air and take photos.

Something out of a fairytale. The path down have to rocks to scramble over, and trees to go around. There is one path to follow through the Brook itself. The water is clear and was running full force when I went. There was a lot of mud before the stepping stones, so either get some wellies or some really good walking boots. Be prepared to sink into the mud while planning a good route around the mud. The car park itself is small, room for about 12 cars at best, so get there early to get a car parking space. There are people who will come and park like idiots and nearly block the entrance out of the car park. There is no warden on the car park and there is no metre either. Its a free car park, thats why people cram into it.
