24 Stories

Perched on the 24th floor of 103 Colmore Row, 24 Stories (formerly Orelle) is Birmingham’s most spectacular restaurant, offering breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views across the city.

The venue comprises a fine dining restaurant and iconic rooftop cocktail bar, with an all-day café on the ground floor. The modern British seasonal menu showcases coastal seafood, sustainable steaks and locally sourced produce, featuring signature dishes like Beef Croquette with hot sauce (inspired by The Bullring and HP Sauce factory), Day Boat Cod, and Saddleback Pork Cutlet with bacon cake and black pudding.

The intimate, marble-floored dining space blends contemporary elegance with vibrant atmosphere, drawing inspiration from Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter heritage and the building’s banking history. Cocktails are expertly crafted by award-winning mixologists, and the wine list is curated globally.

The booking process was very seamless and the staff here are so attentive and wonderful. The food met exceeded my expectations - we had a Sunday Roast, perfectly cooked and presented! Great value for money too. There are small details that made it so memorable to me like the Penhaligons hand wash and lotion in the bathrooms, as well as having the best bottled water I have ever tried. The view over the city is lovely and I will definitely be returning.

FAQ

Do I need to book in advance, or can I just walk in?

Advance booking is strongly recommended, especially for evenings and weekends, as the venue is popular and tables fill quickly. Online reservations are available directly through the 24 Stories website for groups of up to 10 guests; larger parties or private dining require a separate enquiry. Walk-ins may be possible at quieter times, but booking ahead is the safest option.

When is the best time to visit for the most impressive views?

Evenings, particularly around sunset and after dark, offer the most spectacular panoramic city views from the 24th floor. Friday and Saturday evenings are especially lively, with a live music atmosphere. For a quieter experience, a weekday lunch is a good alternative.

Is there a dress code?

Yes, the venue has a formal, sophisticated atmosphere and smart attire is recommended. Think smart-casual at a minimum; avoid overly casual clothing such as sportswear or trainers to fit the elegant setting.

How much should I budget for a visit?

Expect to spend roughly £65-£130 per person for the restaurant, covering food and drinks. Cocktails are typically priced around £15-£18 each, and mains around £35, so the total depends on how many courses and drinks you have.

Is it suitable for children, or is it more of an adults-only venue?

24 Stories is a fine dining restaurant with a sophisticated, adult-leaning atmosphere, so it is best suited to older children and teenagers comfortable in a formal setting. The venue is dog-friendly, so well-behaved dogs are also welcome. It is worth calling ahead to request appropriate seating for families.

How do I get there, is there parking nearby, and what public transport can I use?

The venue is very well served by public transport: Birmingham Snow Hill station is a 4-minute walk, New Street is a 9-minute walk, and Moor Street is around 12 minutes away. Taxis and ride-sharing services are also a convenient option. On-site parking is not available, but several city-centre car parks are within easy walking distance.

Is the venue accessible for guests with mobility needs?

The restaurant is listed as having wheelchair access, and lift access to the 24th floor is available within 103 Colmore Row. However, it is advisable to call ahead on 0121 716 8186 to confirm specific accessibility requirements and arrange suitable seating, as detailed accessibility information is not published online.
